Married to Adventure is pleased to announce our latest escapade – a Yukon and Southeast Alaska road trip – departing this Friday, July 27th. Jeff landed a freelance writing gig for AAA Journey Magazine (you get it free if you’re a AAA member in WA). So the trip for us will be almost free, and we get to romp through some spectacular country for the next couple weeks.
Follow us, as we ride the Alaska state ferry through the inside passage (which is the same route the cruise ships run, only without the midnight buffet).
We’ll hit gold rush country in Skagway then pilgrimage to the Yukon gold fields. After that we cross into remote east Alaska with towns called Boundry, Tok and Chicken.
Next we’ll hop a small plane for McCarthy where we’ll walk on a glacier and survey the ruins of an abandoned mining town.
Finally we’ll hit the kayaks near the village of Valdez. We plan to kayak near a calving glacier, and camp on a remote beach. Keep your eyes on MarriedtoAdventure.com for new updates – we’ll try to upload photos when we get internet access.
Happy Trails!
