Hello Everyone,
Below are some photos from our holiday rental cabin at Mt. Rainier. Very soon we will have our photo website up and running, and from there you’ll have the opportunity to buy prints and digital rights for publication, so stay tuned! For now, a sneak peek.
These are the second story windows at the lodge at Paradise which is inside Mt. Rainier, National Park. The road is plowed in the winter, and one of the snowiest places on the planet.
A cabin, a Christmas tree, a cozy hot tub, and home brew chilling in the snow. Located a few miles from Mt. Rainier National Park (close to the Nisqually Entrance) near the village of Ashland, WA
Exploring the bends and turns around Paradise in our new Christmas snowshoes. Without them, we would have sunk beyond hope. As it was, we sank to our knees.
The lodge at Mt. Rainier is closed in the winter (for obvious reasons), but you can still struggle to walk around it, as this snowshoe hiker discovered.
A little lower down the mountain, near Longmier we discovered a snow-freeze-melt-freeze-snow-freeze pattern. Also known as sharkey-finger-icicles.
Hidden in the debris at the center of this shot is a small battery powered Christmas light strand in the shape of a heart. We discovered this accidental joy on a short walk from our cabin one night. To whoever it there: we thank you for this small token of welcome and warmth.
Happy New Year!
