Lake Wenatchee is a gem of a State Park in any season, but in recent days, sub zero temps and prolific snowfall have turned the area into a winter poster child.
The State Park is divided into North and South areas with both offering cross-country and snowshoe trails. The South portion also has a free groomed sledding hill for small and big kids alike.
Just a short walk from the sledding hill, the lake itself is frozen solid enough to walk on – at least near the beach park. Frost flowers give a surreal texture to the ice.
