It’s been another active month on the trail cameras! By now we’ve been collecting footage for a few years, and we’re starting to see trends each month.
Gone are the bears. Almost overnight we went from seeing them several times per week to seeing none at all. Just in time for hunting season, we went from an occasional deer to hundreds of shots (and a few hunters). Also plenty of coyotes roaming around.
Bobcats – which we tend to see more in the winter- are becoming more frequent again after seeing only one all summer.
We are still getting monthly Mountain Lion shots at a few locations. It’s hard to tell if this is the same cat we’ve seen this summer. The cougars we photographed the past few months always had an offspring in tow. If it is the same cat, the juvenile has been kicked out of the nest. All of our cougar sightings this month were solo cats.
